Attend events at your library
- Here are a few examples of free events: kids and family storytime, book/author talks, lectures, movie nights, ASL classes, English Classes, Technology Classes, Advocacy/organization nights
Borrow resources from your library
- Many Libraries have more than books! They might also have CDs, DVDs, tools (yes, even power tools), museum passes, puzzles, board games, sewing machines
Join the library board
Volunteer with the Friends of your Library
- These organizations fundraise, seek out donations for the library, and hold events at and in support of the library

Organizations that support queer, disabled, and BIPOC readers

This non-profit provides direct mutual aid by funding accessible travel for disabled and queer authors to present their work.

Bookshare offers millions of accessible e-books in formats like audio, Braille, and large print. Membership is free for U.S. Students and heavily subsidized for others.

Shade Mountain is commited to publishing literature by women, especially women of color, disabled women, women from working-class backgrounds, and LGBTQIA+ women.

Lambda Literary nurtures and advocates for LGBTQIA+ writers, elevating the impact of their words to create commnunity, preserve legacies, and afirm the values of our stories and our lives.

The QLL is fighting to build a vibrant, flourishing queer future by connecting LGBTQ+ people with literature, information, and resources that celebrate the unique and empowering diversity of our community.
